The series IX Interocitor builds on the capabilties of the VII and VIII series, combining the functionality of both, whilst reducing the overall power requirements. The Series IX is backwards compatible with all previous Interocitor, with the expection of the Series IIIe and Series Vb.
The interocitor treats distance as a phase error rather than a separation, with the cathermin lattice sampling the local electromagnetic, gravitational, and weak nuclear environments, and constructing a reversible phase correspondence with the remote lattice.
The sealed indium-complex tube forms the primary phase discriminator and in standby it rejects incoherent noise. Whilst the desktop instrument uses three mutually orthogonal tubes, the handheld version uses one multiplexed microtube resulting in slightly lower resolution.
